We are an authentic Italian gelateria and espresso bar in Portland, Oregon, featuring authentic Italian gelato and sorbetto hand-made in small batches daily, as well as house made panini and soup, Caffe D’arte coffee, and Italian-style rich and creamy hot chocolate. Mio Gelato first opened July 2003 in Portland’s Pearl District neighborhood to provide an authentic Italian experience for both visitors and locals and has now expanded with three additional locations. Committed to local and seasonal ingredients, Mio Gelato makes gelato the traditional way beginning with our own homemade bases made from the finest hormone-free local milk and freshest ingredients. Each hand-crafted batch of gelato is flavored with the highest quality local and international ingredients – from local Oregon marionberries to Italian chocolate and pistachios. We closely control the entire process — from farm to dish — to craft small batches of fresh gelato daily.
Décor:
Mio Gelato was designed to resemble a classic Italian gelateria with old wood flooring, earth-toned walls, and marble counters juxtaposed by a sleek, modern gelato case and a polished chrome espresso machine. Over-sized photographs of seasonal fruits and Italian urban life, by local Portland artists, adorn the walls of each location.
